“If I only knew what I did with it.”

“What?”

“You know, that thing, I put it somewhere, fuck I don’t know” as he throws things on the table scattering the pens and pads and fake flower bowl.

“It's here somewhere! What is it? Did I say? I’m sure I put it here somewhere! Blast, have you seen it?”

“I …don’t know what you’re looking for Sir.”

“The thing; the thing we were discussing, you know we were talking about it on how wonderful it was. I put it somewhere.”

“Sir, this is the NSW Motor Registrar. I really don’t know what you’re after. Is it your license, registration, permits, fines, get-out-of-jail-free card?  You must hurry there are people lining up behind you. Please Sir.”

“Hang on, hang on, I’ve got it here someplace…..”

“Sir…I will call security if you don’t hurry.”  She bent forward, hissing at him.

“Arrrr.... here it is they are; here they are…”  Waving them in the air like1st Prize in a raffle.  “My TV license and dog registration….all in order.”

“Sir this is motor registration in 2026. We don’t use TV licenses nor dog registration any more…that was back in the 80s LAST century.  Now move along we are all busy here.”

“Eureka Eureka.  The machine; the machine; it worked!!….eat your heart out Julie Verne….” as he danced around in tiny circles, laughing as he pumped his fists into the air.

“O, my God, security,” she whispered into her lapel “we have another one. Always after a full moon! Always on my shift….and it’s only Monday FFS….”
