Michael Sheridan - New Year

Sometimes, it is said, when the energy is just right, when you can let go of yourself just enough, when the magic of the universe wills it, and only at new year, it is possible to time travel for just a short while to new years in another time and place. 

For instance, I remember in 1999, after I’d given up telling everyone that the millennium was still a year away, I relaxed and found myself in 1971. 

I was supposed to be playing a gig with my band.  We were the opening act at an outdoor music festival in a forest somewhere.  I was the drummer. 

We walked out on stage, I felt a warm rush, someone yelled, ‘let’s disco’, which was really weird because we weren’t a dance-y band.  Everything from there went a bit Dancing Queen.
