Silence, calm, serenity, nature. Peace. For me they are the natural environmental factors that give me peace. A calmness that makes me know I am part of the earth. I am a small part. Maybe I am an important part. Maybe not.
I find peace in many other things; a relaxing conversation with someone special, a fun journey of discovery, haunting music or lyrics, beautiful architecture and art, learning something from people, animals or the planet, understanding and enjoying life and the special people I share it with.
Some people, like animals, are transient. They may only be in my life a short time. But in that time, they have made a huge difference to me. They have helped me, or given advice, or given another perspective. I hope I have been able to do that for others. That would be a significant achievement.
Some people and animals are an intrinsic part of my being. They are significant parts of my life. Maybe not always there physically, but always integral to who I am. Part of my soul. They have and continue to shape me. Shape my spirit. Be part of my essence.
Sometimes it hard to be at peace. Noise and disruption abound. But if at my core, I am at peace, then the noise and disruption become transient and do not become part of my being. They disperse into the archaic ether, never to be seen again. Over and over this plays out, and over and over my core, sends anything that does not contribute to my peace, away. I love the transience of noise and disruption. It reminds me of the beauty of peace.
